Baseball Game Preview: Bureau Valley Storm vs. Sterling Golden Warriors

The Bureau Valley Storm will head out on the road to square off against the Sterling Golden Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Monmouth United hit Bureau Valley with a eight-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Storm came up short against the Red Storm, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Storm have suffered since April 8th.

Meanwhile, Sterling hadn't done well against Quincy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Golden Warriors had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Warriors have posted against the Blue Devils since March 30, 2018.

Sterling's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Penne, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Sterling's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-16. As for Bureau Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-6.
