Maple Mountain has gone a perfect 4-0 against Springville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will face off against the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Maple Mountain comes in on five and Springville on six.
On Thursday, Maple Mountain made easy work of Salem Hills and carried off a 3-0 victory.
The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-21.
Maple Mountain found their leader in freshman McKay Beattie, who had 15 digs and one assist. Brody Harrison also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Meanwhile, Springville posted their closest win since March 8th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Cedar Valley 3-2.
Springville wouldn't go down easily and took Cedar Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 17-15.
Maple Mountain better keep an eye on William Carter. He was instrumental in Springville's win, getting 12 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Carter has posted since back in April of 2024.
Maple Mountain pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Springville, their record is now 11-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Maple Mountain hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 7 blocks per game. However, it's not like Springville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Maple Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Springville in their previous matchup back in March, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
