Basketball Recap: Key West's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Key West won the last time they faced Coral Shores and things went their way on Friday too. The Key West Conchs were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over the Coral Shores Hurricanes. Given the Conchs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 688th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tramane Scott had a dynamite game for Key West, putting up eight points along with 14 boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Roberts, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Key West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Key West's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-6. As for Coral Shores, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Key West will take on South Dade at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Key West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for Coral Shores, they will face off against MAST Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coral Shores is facing MAST Academy at the right time seeing as MAST Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
