The Mercer County Titans will head out on the road to square off against the East Jessamine Jaguars at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mercer County is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
While Mercer County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Lincoln County with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday.
Meanwhile, East Jessamine didn't have quite enough to beat Lexington Christian on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
East Jessamine took Lexington Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. After all that action, the final score was 19-25, 25-22, 25-15, 24-26, 16-14.
Mercer County's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for East Jessamine, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Mercer County skirted past East Jessamine 3-2 in their previous meeting back in August of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mercer County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
