Softball Game Preview: Wesclin Warriors vs. Red Bud Musketeers

The Wesclin Warriors will head out to challenge the Red Bud Musketeers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wesclin's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wesclin fell victim to Okawville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets.

Wesclin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Nordmann, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Red Bud was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of Belleville West by a score of 2-1.

Ava Wagner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Red Bud's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Wesclin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Wesclin came out on top in a nail-biter against Red Bud in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
