If South Newton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played North Newton, they should've done a better job of containing June Busboom. The North Newton Spartans secured a 28-24 W over the South Newton Rebels on Thursday thanks in part to Busboom, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high.
The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Culbreth, who posted two points in addition to six steals and five boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.
South Newton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Faye Springsteen, who put up nine points and eight steals, and Madison Bohlinger, who posted five points and seven blocks. Bohlinger has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last three times she's played.
