Baseball Game Preview: Jamestown Muskies vs. Northwestern Wildcats

The Jamestown Muskies will head out on the road to take on the Northwestern Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jamestown comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Wednesday, Jamestown didn't have quite enough to beat Cambridge Springs and fell 2-1.

Danner Babcock put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Babcock was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Northwestern faced off against Fairview on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joe Schaukowitsch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Northwestern saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Rader, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Jamestown's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Jamestown suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Northwestern in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Muskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
