            Baseball Recap: Pomeroy Pirates vs. Riverside Christian Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            The matchup between Pomeroy and Riverside Christian  on Tuesday hardly resembled the  1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Pirates lost  15-8 to the Crusaders. The Pirates were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting  back in May of 2016.

 Jett Slusser was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with two  doubles, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Treyton Kimble was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  RBI and one  run.  Jeramiah Lemont was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  runs.
Pomeroy has  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record  this season. As for Riverside Christian,  the  victory snapped their losing streak at seven games  and leaves them with a 7-10 record.
As of now, neither Pomeroy nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
