Softball Recap: Western Reserve Comes Up Short

Western Reserve was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 16-1 to the Mapleton Mounties. The Roughriders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mounties from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Western Reserve saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layken Barnhart, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. Makayla Case also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Western Reserve's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Mapleton, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

While Western Reserve had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
