With a playoff win on the line, Uvalde rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the John F. Kennedy Rockets by a score of 7-2. Winning may never get old, but the Coyotes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Derek De La Cruz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, Uvalde let Jordan Castillo and Andruw Ramos run wild. Castillo went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Ramos went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Hurtado, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Uvalde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John F. Kennedy only managed four.

Uvalde's record now sits at 19-8. As for John F. Kennedy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-11.

Uvalde will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rockets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
