Baseball Game Preview: Monterey Wolves vs. St. Joseph's - Plaucheville Eagles

Monterey has gone a perfect 7-0 against St. Joseph's - Plaucheville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wolves will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. St. Joseph's - Plaucheville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Monterey, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, Monterey turned things around against Vidalia on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since March 3rd.

Monterey's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Tillman, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Tillman a new career-high. Avery McMillin was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph's - Plaucheville came up short against Marksville on Friday and fell 13-9. The Eagles have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

St. Joseph's - Plaucheville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Monterey, their victory bumped their record up to 2-12.

Monterey skirted past St. Joseph's - Plaucheville 7-6 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
