Basketball Recap: Laurel Comes Up Short

Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 66-49 fall against the Lockwood LIONS. While losing is never fun, the Locomotives can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the LIONS are ranked 14th).

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Lockwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laurel will face off against Hardin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hardin will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Laurel surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lockwood, they will venture away from home to take on Park on Saturday.
