Baseball Game Preview: Bandys Trojans vs. Maiden Blue Devils

The Bandys Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Maiden Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Bandys got the win against Lincolnton by a conclusive 9-1.

The team relied heavily on Mikey Miley, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. He has become a key player for Bandys: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Drake Tucker, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Maiden waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by just one run.

Maiden pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Bandys, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Bandys beat Maiden 8-3 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
