Volleyball Game Preview: Chariho Chargers vs. North Kingstown Skippers

Chariho hasn't had much luck against North Kingstown recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Chargers will welcome the Skippers at 6:30 p.m.

Chariho is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Cranston East, who was ranked third at the time (Chariho was ranked tenth). The Chargers fell 3-1 to the Thunderbolts on Monday. The Chargers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, North Kingstown put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against East Providence as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

North Kingstown's got stronger as the match went on, holding East Providence to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-15.

North Kingstown's win came from a few key players Chariho will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Stephen Dufour, who had seven digs and two assists.

North Kingstown pushed their record up to 24-0 with the win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chariho, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Chariho suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to North Kingstown in their previous matchup back in April. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Skippers' Evan Shea, who had nine digs and five aces.
