Basketball Recap: Eldon Falls Despite Big Games from Corin Davis and Delaney Mcghay

Eldon lost against Fatima back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eldon Mustangs lost 64-44 to the Fatima Comets. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Comets are ranked 24th).

Despite the defeat, Eldon had strong showings from Delaney Mcghay, who posted ten points, and Corin Davis, who put up six points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in rebounds.

Eldon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Fatima, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Eldon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eldon is facing Lebanon at the right time seeing as Lebanon is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fatima, they and Owensville will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played.
