Baseball Recap: Scott Extends Winning Streak to Four

Scott proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Shelby Valley Wildcats 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Skyhawks, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Scott got a great performance from Brodie Null as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Null has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jason Ferrell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Scott's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Shelby Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Coming up, Scott will head out on the road to face off against George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shelby Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Perry County Central at 6:00 p.m.
