Soccer Game Preview: Western vs. Bolsa Grande

The Western Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Bolsa Grande Matadors at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Western is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

On Wednesday, everything went Western's way against Loara as Western made off with a 5-2 win. That's two games straight that the Pioneers have won by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, Bolsa Grande kept a clean sheet against Rancho Alamitos on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Vaqueros 1-0.

Western's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three contests. As for Bolsa Grande, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8-4.

Western beat Bolsa Grande 4-2 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
