Baseball Game Preview: Alta Hawks vs. Highland Rams

For the second straight game, Alta will face off against Highland. Alta will take on Highland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Alta has five straight victories, Highland has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Alta beats Highland with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Alta's pitcher stepped up to hand Highland an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Ian Alvey's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Crew Scheel was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. TJ Perry also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Alta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Alta, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Highland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Alta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370.
