Recap: Mars Hill Academy vs. Dominion Academy Sabers
Mars Hill Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of Dominion Academy by a score of 58-56. Mars Hill Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dominion Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2016.
Elijah Heerdt was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 16 rebounds for Dominion Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Heerdt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Striebich, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
Mars Hill Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dominion Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mars Hill Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calvary Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Dominion Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Spring Valley Academy at 8:30 p.m. on January 18th.
