Football Game Preview: Northern Cass Jaguars vs. Valley City Hi-Liners

The Northern Cass Jaguars will challenge the Valley City Hi-Liners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northern Cass' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so Valley City's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Northern Cass is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Dakota's top teams: Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm, who was ranked 12th at the time (Northern Cass was ranked 23rd). The Jaguars took a hard 28-12 fall against Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm on Friday. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brooks Crockett, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another passer making a difference was Hudson Rietschel, who threw for 387 yards and two touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Northern Cass' defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Luke Walski was especially locked on to Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Valley City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Oakes with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 30-14.

Valley City's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Northern Cass, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
