Volleyball Recap: Compass Academy Cougars vs. Coahoma Bulldogs

After flying high against Brownfield on Tuesday, Compass Academy came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Coahoma Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Compass Academy started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-12.

Holly Forrest paced Compass Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Forrest got some help from Bella Carrasco and her 29 assists. Makayla Levario controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Bree Lewis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Coahoma, getting 25 kills, 13 digs, and one block. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 22 games she's played. Gabby Cox was another key player, getting five digs and four aces.
