Baseball Game Preview: Penquis Valley Patriots vs. Stearns Minutemen

Penquis Valley hasn't had much luck against Stearns recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Minutemen at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Penquis Valley is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 23rd straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Penobscot Valley, falling 9-2.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Stearns' offense. They fell 4-0 to Schenck on Tuesday. The Minutemen just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Stearns saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emerson Michaud, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Anthony Gurewicz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Stearns' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Penquis Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
