Baseball Recap: Kettle Falls Takes a Loss

Kettle Falls had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it six. They came up short against the Northwest Christian School Crusaders, falling 9-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 on Tuesday.

Kettle Falls saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaiden Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Northwest Christian School, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Northwest Christian School's side, they let Preston Mortlock and Caden Hollister run wild. Mortlock went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Hollister went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Drew Bevan was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Northwest Christian School beat Kettle Falls by a score of 8-1 later that day.
