Basketball Recap: Royalton Comes Up Short

Royalton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Paynesville Bulldogs, falling 79-54. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Royals of the 85-49 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Royalton now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Paynesville, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Royalton will take on Staples-Motley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Staples-Motley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Paynesville, they will head out to take on Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paynesville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta likes a good challenge.
