Football Recap: University Wildcats vs. Los Angeles Romans
University lost against Los Angeles back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The University Wildcats fell 28-16 to the Los Angeles Romans. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although University took the loss, they still got scores from D'Elliott Jones and Jay'Don Manuel.
University wouldn't let Los Angeles keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. University can thank Montae Hamblet and Avier Phillips-Coltrane for forcing both of them.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Los Angeles, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westchester at 7:30 p.m. on October 4th. After each having a week off, Los Angeles and Maywood CES will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 4th. Los Angeles is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
