With a playoff game on the line, the Simla Cubs rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 83-51 win over the Miners. The win was just business As usual For Simla, who after 24 games remain undefeated this season.
Simla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caston Cox led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Kocerha, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Simla's win bumped their record up to 24-0. As for Telluride, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Simla will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Fowler at 10:15 a.m. on March 7th. Simla knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 22 contests -- so hopefully Fowler likes a good challenge.
