Basketball Recap: University Triumphs

Western came into Friday's game looking for another win against University, but Taylor Seay wouldn't allow it. The University Trailblazers took down the Western Panthers 53-38 on Friday thanks in part to Seay, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Feeney, who posted eight points and five assists. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Western saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Rawlings had nine points.

The win got University back to even at 5-5. As for Western, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

University didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-39 victory against Heritage Christian on the 27th. As for Western, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-56 defeat against Western Boone on the 27th.
