Softball Recap: Norton Has No Trouble Against Woodridge

Norton won the last time they faced Woodridge and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Addison Calo and Chloe Womble did most of the damage at the plate: Calo went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI, while Womble went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two triples gave Calo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tatum Harris, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Norton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Norton back to even at 7-7-1. As for Woodridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Norton is taking a road trip to square off against Firestone at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Woodridge, they will welcome Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
