Baseball Game Preview: Trimble Tech Bulldogs vs. North Side Steers

Trimble Tech has gone 8-2 against North Side recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trimble Tech Bulldogs will face off against the North Side Steers at 7:00 p.m. Trimble Tech's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so North Side's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Trimble Tech barely beat North Side the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Trimble Tech blew past North Side 9-2 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Steers: they've now won five in a row.

Mario Reyna made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Trimble Tech is undefeated when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 4-5-2 otherwise. Jesus Castillo was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Trimble Tech's victory bumped their record up to 7-5-2. As for North Side, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
