Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Lions vs. Cambridge Lions

Heritage Christian Academy will take on Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Christian Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

While Heritage Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 44-35 victory over Stephenville FAITH on Tuesday.

Heritage Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Pappas, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. Pappas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Graham Hicks, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards.

Heritage Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cambridge took on Clariden two weeks ago. The Lions enjoyed a cozy 68-50 victory over the Cougars.

Cambridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Heritage Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Heritage Christian Academy strolled past Cambridge when the teams last played back in November by a score of 62-47. Will Heritage Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Cambridge has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
