Softball Preview: Norwell Knights vs. Southern Wells Raiders

Norwell is a perfect 6-0 against Southern Wells since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Knights will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Southern Wells took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Norwell, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Norwell made easy work of Angola and carried off a 12-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Abby Wagner was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Reese Frauhiger was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Winchester Community. Alexis Pennington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
