Soccer Recap: Madison County Comes Up Short

Madison County lost to Central Woodstock back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mountaineers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Madison County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 288th, while Central Woodstock are ranked 113th).

This is the second loss in a row for Madison County and nudges their season record down to 1-7-1. As for Central Woodstock, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Madison County will challenge rival Strasburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Central Woodstock is set to take on their familiar foe Stonewall Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
