Basketball Recap: Lakeland Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bethany Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeland). They came out on top against the Bethany Christian Bruins by a score of 66-54 on Saturday. The Lakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Leading Lakeland to victory were Keyan Arroyo and Kyle Hartsough. Arroyo posted 22 points and five assists, while Hartsough earned 20 points. With that strong performance, Arroyo is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Another player making a difference was Cole Riehl, who posted two points in addition to seven assists, seven boards, and five steals.

Lakeland's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bethany Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland and Westview will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lakeland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. Bethany Christian will take on Triton in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
