The Liberty Bison will square off against the Tahquitz Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Tahquitz took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty, who comes in off a win.
Liberty is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over Heritage on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bison, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Aubrie Gosy tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Cameryn Rutkoff and Attiana Thompson did most of the damage at the plate: Rutkoff went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Thompson scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Rutkoff a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Matthews, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Tahquitz suffered their biggest loss since February 27, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Paloma Valley, falling 9-3.
Tahquitz saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Suriah Ortiz, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. Tahquitz's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Liberty hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Tahquitz struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Liberty might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Tahquitz when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Liberty have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
