Softball Recap: Lindale Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Lindale finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Van Vandals. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Vandals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Morgan Keenright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

Lindale's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6-1. As for Van, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lindale will welcome Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Van, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kemp at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
