Recap: First Baptist Christian Warriors vs. Westbury Christian Wildcats
The First Baptist Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 82-43 loss at the hands of Westbury Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First Baptist Christian in their matchups with Westbury Christian: they've now lost eight in a row.
It was another big night for Jason Scott, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 6 assists for Westbury Christian. Scott has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Mackey, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
First Baptist Christian bumped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Westbury Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Baptist Christian will take on Northland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northland Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Westbury Christian, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lutheran North at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Sion Cleveland and Scott.
