Baseball Game Preview: Robertson County Black Devils vs. Covington Latin Trojans

The Robertson County Black Devils will challenge the Covington Latin Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Covington Latin took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Robertson County, who comes in off a win.

Robertson County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They blew past Newport 14-0. The Black Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Lucas Burden, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Another player making a difference was Ashton Myers, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Covington Latin came up short against Bellevue last Wednesday, falling 20-2. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Carter Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Robertson County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Covington Latin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
