The Luther Prep Phoenix will challenge the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Luther Prep will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Luther Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Catholic Central on Friday as they made off with a 19-4 victory. Considering the Phoenix have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addy Schmidt made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lydia Vasold, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Myah Pederson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two triples and two runs.
Luther Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Lake Country Lutheran's offense. They came up short against Brookfield Academy on Thursday, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Lightning's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Luther Prep's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Country Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Luther Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Lake Country Lutheran struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Luther Prep took their win against Lake Country Lutheran in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 9-3 score. Do the Phoenix have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lightning turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
