Preview: Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights vs. Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks
Milwaukee Lutheran and Greenfield are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Milwaukee Lutheran has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 882 points over their last 12 matches.
Last Tuesday, Milwaukee Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Oak Creek, taking the game 63-51.
Milwaukee Lutheran had a senior duo take command as Isaiah Allen dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds and Jelani Weathers scored six points along with ten rebounds and five blocks. Allen is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasen Brown, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Badger scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Greenfield still came out on top. Greenfield walked away with a 73-63 win over Badger. Given Greenfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Badger is ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milwaukee Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Milwaukee Lutheran beat Greenfield 91-82 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Milwaukee Lutheran repeat their success, or does Greenfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
