Volleyball Game Preview: Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs vs. Dixon Bulldogs

Northside - Jacksonville hasn't had much luck against Dixon recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Monarchs will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Dixon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Northside - Jacksonville, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Northside - Jacksonville turned things around against Havelock on Thursday. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 3-1.

Northside - Jacksonville walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23.

Northside - Jacksonville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sa'Niyah Serrano, who had ten digs and three aces. That's the most digs Serrano has posted over her last six contests. Lilly Blasingame was another key player, getting 14 digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Northside - Jacksonville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Dixon came up short against Croatan on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Northside - Jacksonville's record is now 6-13. As for Dixon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Northside - Jacksonville suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Dixon in their previous meeting last Thursday. Can the Monarchs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
