Basketball Game Preview: Baker Braves vs. Immanuel Christian Crusaders

Baker hasn't had much luck against Immanuel Christian recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Baker Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Immanuel Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. Baker will be strutting in after a win while Immanuel Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Baker strolled past Lee Vining with points to spare, taking the game 46-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Braves.

Anthony Ibarra was a one-man wrecking crew for Baker as he went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and six steals. Those 21 points gave Ibarra a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anthony Ortiz, who posted seven points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Immanuel Christian was beaten by Lone Pine 84-27 on Monday. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Baker is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Immanuel Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Baker was able to grind out a solid victory over Immanuel Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 53-46. Will Baker repeat their success, or does Immanuel Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
