Volleyball Recap: King Philip Regional Beats Barnstable for Their Fourth Straight Victory

King Philip Regional had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Barnstable Red Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Monday.

King Philip Regional was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 21-25, 28-26, 15-13.

Leading King Philip Regional to victory were Caleigh Shore and Cece Mullen. Shore had 24 digs and five aces, while Mullen had ten digs and five aces. That's the most digs Shore has posted since back in October.

They weren't the only good servers: King Philip Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. They served 11 more aces than Barnstable's also-impressive total of 12.

Barnstable's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Molly Colantuono, who had ten digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Kylie Boorack, who had eight digs and three aces.

King Philip Regional's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Barnstable, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

As of now, neither King Philip Regional nor the Red Hawks have any future games scheduled.
