Baseball Game Preview: Littleton Lions vs. Denver South Ravens

Littleton is on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Denver South a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Littleton Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Denver South Ravens at 11:00 a.m. Littleton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Littleton not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2, 2024. They blew past Wheat Ridge 16-3. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Farmers: they've now won six in a row.

Evan Siler spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mario Flores, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Lucas Calonder was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Littleton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Denver South and Northfield faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. The Ravens fell 8-5 to the Nighthawks.

Littleton's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Denver South, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Littleton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Denver South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
