Baseball Recap: Westminster School Starts Season with Win Against Simsbury

Westminster School had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Simsbury Trojans with a sharp 10-2 win.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Pleau, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Easton Masse, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Westminster School and Simsbury will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Westminster School will challenge rival Hotchkiss School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Simsbury is set to face off against their familiar foe Conard at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
