Basketball Recap: Harriman Comes Up Short

The Harriman Blue Devils lost 72-52 to the Clarkrange Buffaloes on Monday.

Clarkrange's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braxton Sears, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Sears has posted since back in January. Mason McWhirter was another key player, shooting 71% from the field en route to 15 points along with five assists and five boards.

Harriman's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clarkrange, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Harriman won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sunbright at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' defense better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 71.2 points per game this season. As for Clarkrange, they are taking a road trip to take on Stone Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Buffaloes will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
