Recap: Trenton Bulldogs vs. Chillicothe Hornets
If the Trenton Bulldogs were riding high off their 82-48 takedown of the Marceline Tigers on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Trenton was the victim of a tough 63-40 loss at the hands of Chillicothe on Friday. Trenton lost against Chillicothe in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-21 score last time.
Chillicothe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Mathew, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. Mathew is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sol'jier Allen, who scored 19 points along with 5 assists.
Trenton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Chillicothe, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.
Trenton will head out on the road to face off against South Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chillicothe will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Parkview at 5:45 p.m. on December 20th. Parkview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three matches.
