Baseball Recap: Lakin Takes a Loss

Southwestern Heights hit Lakin with a seven-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Broncs came up short against the Mustangs, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 on Tuesday.

Lakin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Bemis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Lakin and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Southwestern Heights, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Lakin will square off against Scott on Thursday. As for Southwestern Heights, they will challenge Hugoton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
