Basketball Recap: Keystone Heights Comes Up Short

Keystone Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Baldwin Indians. Keystone Heights was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Baldwin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Keystone Heights' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Michael Petty, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards, and Cooper Barry, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Those 11 rebounds gave Petty a new career-high. Jamari Turner was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Keystone Heights was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Keystone Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Baldwin, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.

Keystone Heights will take on Interlachen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Interlachen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. As for Baldwin, they will challenge ED White at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
