Baseball Game Preview: Bertie Falcons vs. Perquimans Pirates

Bertie is 0-7 against Perquimans since May of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. Bertie will face off against Perquimans at 4:30 p.m. Bertie has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bertie is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Tarboro on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the Vikings.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Perquimans was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They came up short against D.H. Conley, falling 11-1.

Perquimans saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Walker Meads, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Perquimans' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Bertie, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Bertie couldn't quite get it done against Perquimans in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can Bertie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
