Whitewater came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Delavan-Darien Comets with a sharp 17-1 victory. The Whippets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Whitewater pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Delavan-Darien, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
